Great Florida Vacation Spots: Orlando

Everyone needs a vacation every now and then, to get away from the worries and stresses of life and have fun with your friends and family. Florida is one of the best vacation spots in the world, filled with tons of attractions and great places to visit that will give you and your family everything you need in a memorable vacation. The city of Orlando is one of the best vacation spots in the state, bar none. This article will talk about Florida vacation spots in and around Orlando.

Florida Vacation Spots: Disney World

Arguably the most popular and well-known attraction in Orlando is Disney World. Millions of people from all over the world have come to Disney World for a magical experience chock full of memories – for all ages, young to old. You can stay at an award-winning Disney Resort and then hit the parks: Magic Kingdom (the main park with a fairy-tale theme); the Epcot center (a futuristic park with a fabulous international district); Hollywood Studios (filled with attractions with a movie theme); and Animal Kingdom (a part-jungle, part-safari experience). You can also go to one of two fantastic water parks: Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon.

Florida Vacation Spots: Universal Studios

Across town you can find another world-renown theme park: Universal Studios, home of some of the best and most engrossing thrill rides in the country. Universal Studios is a theme park created to convey the incredible world of entertainment developed by Universal Studios, and features rides based on many major blockbusters, such as Jaws, Indiana Jones, Shrek, and Spider-man. There are also several intense rollercoasters for the wild at heart. This park is actually two parks in one: the main Universal Studios site and Islands of Adventure, completely filled with awesome thrill rides that will knock your socks off.

Florida Vacation Spots: Discovery Cove

For a refreshing change of pace from the two above attractions (as well as a nice place to spend a hot summer day), visit Discovery Cove, one of the premiere water parks in the country. Discovery Cove is a gorgeous water park with an extremely hospitable staff and tons of beautiful attractions. You can also check out their maritime exhibits, complete with dolphins that you can actually swim with! This park is a very relaxing place to spend a day checking out the marine life, swimming with your family, and snorkeling in the pristine waters.

There are plenty of other great attractions in and around Orlando, Florida that promise to offer an incredible vacation experience you will never forget. If you have a free weekend, I recommend driving around town at a leisurely pace and discovering all that Orlando has to offer you. If you have a travel agent, they will be able to recommend more sites, or may even have great deals for you for the places above. You can also find brochures and flyers everywhere that may also offer coupons and discounts for Disney World, Universal Studios, Discovery Cove, and other places in this great city.

I've been to Orlando, Florida a few years back. I'd like to visit again someday. There's so much to see.
